Abstract
A total of 1,520 Salmonella strains were isolated by the PMIP Medical Division Laboratory between 1991 and 1995. Slerological typing (somatic and flagellar antigen) was performed by CEPIS (Centro Enterobatteri Patogeni- Milano) only in the last three years (1993-95). S. typhimurium (20%) and S. enteridis (39%) were the most common serotypes isolated, in-vitro antimicrobial susceptibility was versus eleven antibiotics. In contrast with previous trends, increased sensibility levels were observed versus all assayed molecules.
