Abstract
Among 348 cases of hydatiform mole gathered in Lombardy from 1969 to 1980, 10 (2.9%) had a single relapse, and 3 (0.8%) had two or more molar relapses. The authors point out that the incidence of malignant evolution in these 13 women is significantly higher than in the remaining 335 (controls). Predisposition to choriocarcinoma is influenced by the presence of a normal pregnancy in the obstetrical anamnesis and not by a previous chemoprophylaxis.
