Abstract

Purpose: to evaluate the efficacy of short-term synthetic ACTH and Vigabatrin therapy for the treatment of Infantile Spasms. Outcome measures: complete cessation of spasms, resolution of hypsarrhytmia, relapse rate, ACTH resulted effective for the short-term treatment of spasm and in resolution of hypsarrhytmia with a greater percentage of cryptogenic patients. The data are insufficient to determine Vigabatrin efficacy.
