Abstract

The infections in bone marrow transplantation are severe and sometimes lethal complications (15-37%). Chronologically may be subdivided in: infections during the immediate posttransplant period (neutropenia), infections related to acute GVHD, late infections (related to chronic GVHD). The experience of the Department of Hematology, San Martino Hospital, Genova, is reported.
