Infiltrating tumours of the encephalic trunk are of particular importance in infant neuropathology because of their by no means negligible incidence and above all because of the physiopathological and evolutive features that mark them off distinctly from other infratentorial neoplasias. Personal experience, involving 13 patients, diagnosed and followed up over the past five years, is reported. Special attention is paid to the clinico-symptomatological, diagnostico-instrumental, therapeutic and evolutive aspects which are discussed critically in relation to the reported data and to the most recent findings in the neuroradiological and chemotherapeutico-antiblastic fields.
