Abstract
The electrical conductivity of phospholipid bilayers, to which different gangliosides containing one or two sialic acid groups (GM3 or GD3 respectively) have been added, has been measured in the frequency range from 10kHz to 100 MHz. - The observed alterations in the overall conductivity of the aqueous suspensions may br partially ascribed to a surface conductance contribution due to the polar head groups of the gangliosides.
