Abstract
Preliminary results of a multicentre prospective study aimed at detecting the risk factors for relapse of seizures after a first unprovoked one are reported. The relapse rate is 30.4%. The recurrence of seizures is significantly related to the presence of epileptiform EEG activity and is higher in cases with electroclinical patterns typical for a well defined epileptic syndrome.
