Abstract
Thirty patients, affected by nodulo-cystic acne, were treated with isotretinoin for 3-7 months, at the average dosage of 0,5-0,7 mg/kg/day. These patients were studied in order to evaluate the prevalence of ossifications and/or calcifications of the spine. X-rays of the lumbar and cervical segment of the spine were performed 1-26 months after stopping therapy. In 17 out of 30 patients X-rays were also performed before treatment. No pathological alterations, either vertebral or ligamentous, were evident.
