We conducted a survey to examine knowledge and attitudes about epilepsy in 800 adults in Rome. Our results demonstrate that only the 5% of sample did not know a disease called "epilepsy". The superficial knowledge level of epilepsy is improved in comparison with the 1983 Italian data, even if remain many prejudices and negative bias against persons with epilepsy.
