N2 - The effect of intravenous administration of domperidone, a dopamine receptor antagonist with peripheral activity, on basal and submaximal pentagastrin‐stimulated gastric acid secretion and gastrin release has been evaluated in healthy volunteers. No significant changes were observed in the parameters studied. The lack of effect on gastrin release appears to confirm that domperidone is unable to penetrate the blood brain barrier in appreciable amounts in adults. 1984 The British Pharmacological Society
