Abstract

The authors describe a case of Larva currens (cutaneous strongyloidiasis) in a patient with chronic obstructive airway disease being treated with systemic corticosteroids for an exacerbation of the above condition. The iatrogenic immunosuppression from the steroids precipitated the dissemination of Strongyloides stercoralis which up to then had been clinically dormant.
