Abstract

We report a very unusual location of a lipoma: the distal phalanx of the right index finger. The literature reports only three cases of this tumour distally to the proximal interphalangeal joint but no case in the tip of the index finger (1, 2, 3). We report a case of an elderly man with an important deformity of the pulp of the index finger without pain but with functional impairment. The preoperative evaluation, the surgical treatment and the positive results of this case are presented.
