Local anesthesia for the treatment of inguinal hernia is described. The technique is based on anesthesia of XI and XII thoracic nerves, ileohypogastric and ileoinguinal nerves, lateral femoral cutaneous nerve and genitofemoral nerve. Local anesthesia allows immediate postoperative ambulation of the patient, lowering of risks connected with other types of anesthesia intraoperative testing of result of the operation, and reduction of hospital cost.
