Basal-cell carcinomas (BCC) of the nasal region, all histologically confirmed, were evaluated for previous history of trauma by spectacles frames. We observed 28 patients with positive history for chronic eyeglasses injury versus 5 patients without any previous trauma and with the same location of the tumour. The histologic subtypes observed did not show differences among patients with BCC of the entire nasal region and patients with BCC at the site of trauma. The significance of chronic injury at the site of BCC is discussed.
