Abstract
We report a case of giant cell tumor of bone (GCTB) associated with Paget's disease unsuccessfully treated with radiotherapy for some years but dramatically reduced in size with high dose of dexamethasone within few days. An ultrastructural study showed intranuclear virus-like inclusions in the multinucleated giant cells. The patient was then switched to prednisone plus diclofenac and he is still in almost complete remission after two years. The patient was from Avellino area, a small town in Southern Italy.
