On the basis of our experience in the treatment of Parkinson's disease, we report the recommendations and guidelines for pharmacotherapy and rehabilitation treatment of patients along the disease. Disease basic mechanism knowledge, pharmacotherapy, and the rehabilitation team permit to achieve a fairly good global improvement of several affected functions, a subjective fear of falling attenuation, and an increased confidence in daily life activities. In the near future, new drugs will be available, not only for the treatment of the symptoms, but also with neuroprotective effects to complement the rehabilitation programme.
