The muscles bleeding in hemophiliacs must be correctly treated to reobtain perfect functioning, otherwise irreversible damage can be caused. In this paper the possible levels of therapy are described as follows: Stopping of haemorrhages by administration of factors concentrates in sufficient and correct doses, orthopaedic treatment characterized first by absolute immobility in the antalgic position, then by wrong position correction with plaster, and physiotherapy. There criteria are applied in most Hemophilia Centers. They have performed haematoma aspiration with 3/4 needle for a few years in order to absorb the muscle haemorrhagia faster with full success. Surgical therapy in 3 patients with muscle damage not improved by traditional therapy is also described. Surgical muscle haematoma evacuation can be given as indication when the muscular lesions are not corrected by orthopaedic and physiotherapic treatment and when the bleeding is not stopped in an early stage. The authors results prove the full and fast recovery of the muscle function with this treatment.
