Translated title of the contribution: Myoclonic absences: Syndromic definition and atypical pictures

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

Rythmic myoclonias related to 3 Hz spike and wave have been recorded in 13 patients. The age of onset and the electroclinical features were consistent with the diagnosis of Myoclonic Absences in six cases, in a further 7 patients rythmic myoclonias appeared in electriclinical pictures resembling those of generalized idiopathic epilepsy. Long term control of seizures was achieved in all the cases, a mild mental deterioration and behavioural disorders became evident in the few patients with the longer history of active epilepsy.
