Abstract
In recent years, endoscopy has become an increasingly established procedure in neurosurgery with a growing range of applications. Neuro-endoscopy has been used to treat intraventricular tumours where it allows both biopsy and, in selected cases, resection of small tumours ad the concomitant treatment of associated hydrocephalus by third ventriculostomy. The technique has also been used in the treatment of deep cystic lesions for biopsy and aspiration. We describe our experience in the using endoscopy to treat 18 patients, 14 with intraventricular lesions and four with deep cystic tumours.
