Abstract
30 aged patients affected by hemiplegia after stroke were submitted to a one month neuropsychological training while receiving routine physiokinetic therapy. Patients were divided into two groups: in the first one, patients were enrolled within two weeks from the start of the rehabilitation treatment, in the second one, three months after the treatment began. The training we set was composed of a number of exercises which could support an improvement of the impaired higher nervous functions. The aim of the present study was to verify whether a so conceived training could help the hemiplegic patients to comprehend and execute the manoeuvres required by the neuromuscular facilitation techniques, i.e., it could be considered synergic with the physiokinetic therapy in enhancing the motor recovery.
