Abstract
Persisting non convulsive status (NCS) in a man with idiopathic generalized epilepsy is reported. After a first GTSC on awakening at the age of twenty, the patient had been experiencing rare NCS until the age of 73 when the frequency of NCS increased in spite of treatment with antiepileptic drugs had been initiated. No cognitive decline was documented when the patient was 83. The bi-directional potential influences between epileptic manifestations and senile processes are discussed.
