Abstract
The authors report 59 cases of non transmural myocardial infarction. The diagnosis was made on the basis of clinical electrocardiographic data and enzyme changes. The clinical course was characterized by several chest pain attacks; a transmural myocardial infarction occurred in four patients a few days after admission. Out of 55 patients, followed for a 19 mth period, 6 died, 31 were asymptomatic and 14 complained of angina. In the last group, chest pain was generally present before the non transmural myocardial infarction. The ECG was within normal limits in 37 patients. The coronarographic patterns found in 15 patients are also described and discussed.
