Abstract
Risk evaluation demands active contribution of occupational physician, which is to undergo objective verification and be addressed to person at work. For this purpose, a new operative fixed pattern has been studied which, starting from the working deseases listed in DM 27th April 2004, could assess the incidence of deseases in the working environment examined. Each occupational desease has been confronted to previously studied working profiles by means of dedicated software. 254 cleaning operators working in day nurseries and nursery schools were examined, mostly females, average age 48.6 yrs, average seniority 18.1 yrs. 60% were considered fit with limitation, and significant number of occupational diseases was detected. Considering the osteoarticular apparatus, 12.3% resulted affected by carpal tunnel syndrome, 10% by upper limb desease, 13.4% by vertebral disk desease. The prevalence of deseases is higher than in literature data. The re-evaluation identified risks underestimated, and proved the need of medical protocol. Further investigation is required. Nevertheless, attention to worker and not to task assessed higher potential risk and work related desease diagnosis not considered in the past.
