N2 - Starting from Hippocrates, at the Age of Pericles, the One Health initiative takes inspiration from the Greek father of medicine and is based on his approach which recognizes that human health, animal health and environmental health are part of a whole body. Chiron, the wisest of all centaurs, is the classical mythological representation of an integrated view between man and the environment. Thus, he is the tangible example of the Hippocratic dyad where healthcare is achieved by the integration of man with nature. As a mythological Chiron in modern systems medicine, the integrated body of evidence in proteomics investigations is providing key molecular and analytical knowledge to achieve an evidence based approach. Hereafter we introduce some examples published in this themed proteomics issue.
