The authors present a case of osteoblastoma of the sacrum which was accompanied by diffuse osteomalacia of the skeleton. A review of the literature shows only 18 cases reported up to now in which a tumour was associated with osteomalacia. The tumour may be either of the soft tissue or of the bone, it is always benign, it is generally a vascular or very vascularized tumour. As the tumour heals, normal calcification of the skeleton is recovered, but the relationship between these pathological entities still remains to be explained.
