Aim of this study is to evaluate epilepsy patients follow-up in a Universitary Epilepsy Center with 671 patients. We studied efficacy of new AED treatment, differences between new and old AEDs, incidence of adverse events, etc.We built a database with 26 items and studied it with the Statistical Package for social Science (SPSS,Version 12.0) statistical program. Our sample had a percentage of Generalized Epilepsy of 45,9% (40,5% Idiopathic, 2,7% Criptogenic, 2,8% Symptomatic) and a 52,5% of Partial Epilepsy (23,2% Idiopathic, 6,8% Criptogenic, 22,5% Symptomatic); 1,6% had Special Form of Epilepsy. We found that old AEDs (VPA, PB e CBZ) are still the more used drugs for Epileptic Treatment even though new AEDs use is increasing. We also noticed that there is no significant difference between new AEDs in tha matter of adverse events.
