The aim of this study was to evaluate the erythropoiesis in 15 adult GH-deficient. patients. Erythrocytes concentration, hemoglobin concentration (HB), hematocrit, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin, mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration and circulating total erythrocyte mass were evaluated in all the patients. In addition, as far as iron status was concerned, serum iron, ferritin and transferrin were studied. The hematologic parameters considered as a mean were in normal range. In particular the mean HB was 13.5±1.0 g/dl. Mean plasma iron, ferritin and transferrin. were in normal range. On the contrary, the obtained circulating total erythrocyte mass value was significantly lower than the predicted ones (males: 17±3 vs 30.5 ml/kg; females: 14.3±1 vs 23.4 ml/kg, p
