Abstract
Cobalt powder implanted into the basal nucleus of the amygdaloid nucleus of the cat induced EEG abnormalities and clinical seizures. The most interesting ultrastructural patterns are the early brain edema and structural modification of glial cells, at the perifocal level. The brain edema and impairment of the glia function are discussed on the basis of the pathogenesis of this epilepsy model.
