Abstract

To obtain RF destruction in bigger tumors in one session, the authors describe an innovative technique, combining RFTA with arterial stop flow of the feeding artery of the tumor. This technique is safe and repeatable, permitting to obtain safe margin around tumoral tissue and to determine a necrotic area that has the tumoral shape. This procedure can be performed with local anestesia in one day hospitalization. The arterial stop flow in combination with RF ablation procedure in non operable big HCC and in non operable single secondary hepatic lesions, causing a reduction of impedence values, permits bigger areas of thermal lesions with miniinvasive procedure.
