Plasma exchange for mushroom poisoning

Abstract

Seventeen patients with mushroom poisoning were treated, besides other therapy, with exchange transfusion. Rapid clinical and hematochemical recovery was seen in 15 patients. Two patients, both of whom had ingested more than 300 g. of Amanita phalloides, died.
