Abstract
The case of a woman with a diagnosis of dementia whose laboratory tests revealed megaloblastic anemia and hypocalcemia, due to a post-gastrectomy malabsorbtion syndrome is described. The evaluation of a cognitive impairment should always include a complete clinical examination.
