Abstract
Upper limb lymphedema due to breast cancer treatment has a significant prevalence. Sentinel lymphnode biopsy allowed to reduce the incidence of this pathology but not to eliminate completely the problem. The key of the therapy of post-mastectomy lymphedema is the early treatment and above all prevention. Authors report their own experience in this clinical ambit and underline particularly the role of lymphatic microsurgery.
