Abstract

Clinical findings in ten elerly patients without previous epilepsy affected by status epilepticus after the age of seventy years are reported. Nine patients had partial status or generalized status with focal onset and only one had apparently generalized seizures. In seven cases cerebrovascular disease was the leading cause of status.
