Abstract

The importance of the knowledge of a clinical condition called prurigo pigmentosa is underlined. After having previously defined the clinical and evolutive characteristics of dermatitis, the histopathology of the disease and the etiopathogenetic data are described. Personal experience on the topic is reported and those dermatitis which may create a problem of differential diagnosis are briefly discussed; therapeutic protocols reported in literature are then proposed. Finally it is underlined that such dermatitis is misdiagnosed since it is confused with similar conditions.
