The choice of the treatment for erythroplasia of Queyrat is problematic and not univocal. Few cases have been described in the literature. A retrospective study was made of five cases of erythroplasia of Queyrat of the glans penis, that underwent orthovoltage radiotherapy in the period 1982-2000, so as to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the treatment. The mean follow-up was of 80.4 months. Complete remission was obtained in 100% of the irradiated lesions. The cosmetic results were good or acceptable in 4 cases (80%) and not acceptable in 1 (20%). So far, we have not observed recurrences nor complications or sequelae to radiotherapy. Such results support radiotherapy as an effective and safe therapeutic choice in the treatment of erythroplasia of Queyrat of the glans penis.
