Abstract

We report the experience of Low Vision Center (Eye Clinic, Bologna) on 163 patients followed between September 1993 and January 1996. Macular diseases (age related maculopathy, myopic and diabetic retinopathy) represented 80.3% of low vision causes. 101 patients (61.9%) adopted successfully low vision magnifiers. Personal interests (work, hobbies) and young age were the most important factors for the success of riabilitative treatment.
