Abstract
The human side of the health service and the quality of care are touchy subjects experienced on an everyday basis. Interpersonal communication is often difficult since caregivers are constantly called upon to handle both their own feelings and the family's. The aim of the article is to provide an overview in this specific area, underlining the importance of counselling as part of the "taking care" process.
