Abstract
Peripheral blood films of 27 male individuals have been stained with quinacrine and subsequently with acridine orange, to study the relationship between Y chromosome and nucleolus. It has been demonstrated that the male sex chromatin, in a significant proportion of cells, is situated in paranucleolar position: this finding, according to previously reported data, suggests a functional relationship between these two structures.
