Abstract

The present work shows that membrane bound sialoglycoproteins can be hydrolysed by membrane bound neuraminidase, thus confirming the recent findings of Heijlman and Roukema (1972) on the capacity of brain neuraminidase to affect endogenous sialoglycoproteins, thus ending possible controversy in the field.
