Abstract

The possible presence of renal vasoconstriction and its relation to portal hypertension In Child's class A cirrhotics who never experienced ascites was investigated. Duplex Doppler ultrasonic studies showed that such patients, renal resistive index is increased in about a half of the cases and reflects more specifically than portal congestive index the presence of portal hypertension.
