Abstract
Changes in forced expiratory volume in 1 sec. (FEV1) induced by the administration of a Beta-2 agonist (Reproterol, 500 mcg MDI) and a bechic (Fominoben 40 mg i.v.) were evaluated both in asthmatics and in patients with chronic obstructive lung disease (COLD). In each patient the administration of the drugs was carried out in the following order: Reproterol (R1) → Fominoben (F) → Reproterol (R2). R1, F, R2 induced significant changes in FEV1 when compared to control values (P1. Only in patients with COLD the FEV1 values measured after R2 were significantly greater than those observed after R1 (P
