Personal experience in the surgical management of megaureter in children is presented. 72 cases were treated, about 90% successfully. The pathogenesis and physiopathology of megaureter are reviewed and the different types of operation used in its management are described. Attention is drawn to the advantages of Hendren's operation in very bad cases.
