Abstract

The rosette technique is a method of visualizing T receptors on lymphocyte surfaces. It has been shown that a large population of spontaneous rosette forming lymphocytes exists in humans. These lymphocytes are thymus derived. The rosette forming cell test (RFC test) was performed in 138 subjects from 1 month up to 51 years of age: 57 were healthy volunteers or children recovering from a variety of non immune diseases, 33 had acute lymphatic leukemia (ALL), 2 had chronic lymphatic leukaemia (CLL), 2 had acute myelocytic leukaemia (AML) and 44 various other diseases.
