RV: A new possibility to elicited the P300

Abstract

The P300 is the most studied and evident component of the ERPs in recent years. It is characteristically an endogenous product and not obligatory, which can be evoked only after stimulation with relevant task. Its latency is proportional both to the time required for the categorisation of the stimulus and to the duration of the stimulus itself. Virtual Reality is a new form of humanmachine interface that integrates the human into the virtual world of the computer. Concerning existing Virtual Reality programs and 3Dgraphics in medicine, this work shows possibilities to elicited the ERPs in a normal subject using as target stimulus a visual stimulus in a virtual ambient.
