Abstract
We describe seizure semiology and awareness in a series of consecutive epilepsy outpatients with age at onset ≥ 60 years, High percentages of elderly outpatients who first came to attention already met criteria for diagnosis of epilepsy. Patients were aware of seizure occurrence in a high proportion of cases. Automatisms were reported in about 20% of the subjects with complex partial seizures.
