Abstract

Purpose. To show some gelastic seizures (GS) related to small size hypothalamic hamartomas (HH). Material. Pts with recorded GS and HH <1 cm diameter. Results. 3 pts with drug-resistant Epilepsy. Other types of seizures, apart of GS, are present. Neuropsychological development is normal or almost normal; none has precocious puberty. Conclusion. A careful MRI study of the hypothalamic, infundibular and mammillary bodies area is mandatory in pts with prominent feature of GS. Video-EEG of some GS is presented.
