Abstract
The significant recent changes in soccer have partly altered its specific injury epidemiology. Technical and tactical innovations, new regulations, the intensity of match play and training methods are substantial aspects in the occurrence of traumatic events. Prevention remains the best way of reducing the incidence of injuries.
