Abstract

In a series of 358 gastric carcinomas, the authors observed squamous cell differentiation in two cases (0.56%). This was a complex carcinoma, glandular and squamous cell, and the other case was purely squamous cell. The pathogenesis of these rare appearances of carcinoma of the stomach remains obscure.
