Abstract

An explicit analytical formula was developed that yields the amount of secreted hormone over the first hour as a linear combination of the blood concentrations through suitable weights that depend on the hormone kinetics and the sampling protocol. The formula was validated by comparing its results with those provided by a nonparametric deconvolution method.
