Abstract

The variation in the serum level of CPK in 4 groups of patients with muscular diseases (Duchenne progressive muscular dystrophy, polymyositis and Steinert myotonic dystrophy) after muscular strain was studied. All the patients were infants or children. 25 control patients were chosen at random and divided into 2 age groups (below and above 18 yrs respectively). The results were statistically analysed in order to estimate the variation induced by muscular exercise in normal subjects and in patients affected by muscular diseases.
